Supermarket beer or wine is very pleasant on a balcony at night and goes well with the picnics mentioned by others. Snack bars will often do delicious freshly grilled meat dishes and kebabs costing much less than a full restaurant meal and can be take away or eaten outside. I often find a snack bar meal with a large bottle of water is enough on a hot Cyprus night anyway.

plenty of vegan food in greece and cyprus if you stick to local mom n pop restaurants but forget any chance of them being officially certified as such - you'll have to take it on trust.
