No, the one piece I have, a small fall front desk, has been in the workshop for the last 25 years.
It's not ruined it, but nor has it done it any favours!
Now I know someone who has a piece of arts and crafts in their garage. All oily!
Good quality too. Might even be an important maker!0 -
It isn't utility furniture. Utility furniture wouldn't have had decoration on it.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I only put it there to photograph, it's not near one nor are they on at this time of year!0 -
It is indeed now regarded as 'vintage' and priced accordingly highly - which is rather a nonsense, given how valuers now downvalue much more intricate antiques as just being 'brown furniture'. (Not that that extends to the upmarket antiques trade, of course - just to valuers and people talking down what they don't want to have highly priced.)
I bought a pair of basic utility chairs in a junk shop for only a tenner over 20 years ago. A few years back, I saw identical ones priced at over £50 each by some hipster design house. Go figure...!0 -
So as an overall I can remove the legs?!0

Well I'm sitting here quite deflated.. Have taken the unit apart, cleaned, sanded and prepped ready to paint.. But my last job of taking the feet off shows holes in them. . woodworm? there seemed to be some weird collections of dust when I cleaned it and this morning they're back.. This could be because it's been moved and unsettled but not sure.
Anyone know what I can do if it is.. Can it be treated or should I hav eleft it at the recycling centre!0
