Interesting, I received a new Platinum card this week, but as it's one that I rarely use I haven't yet found out whether it works or not. We'll see if I get a replacement, if not I'll need to try using it to see if it's OK or not.

I was going abroad and decided to put money on an existing Sainsbury's travel money card at their local store. Unfortunately it was my wife (then at home) who originally signed for the card so Sainsbury's declined. Having got home I tried to get an HSBC card via the internet but that was refused because their time window had closed so I had to go back to Sainsbury's and get my own travel card for my wife and I to use.

The moral: assume everything possible will go wrong and Murphy will invent another problem. Sainsbury's would not allow the PIN number to be changed before I went abroad but apart from that it actually worked!.
