9 month old computer power supply failed

My grandson bought a computer from an ebay store using my ebay account, with my permission, last July and the power supply failed.

I contacted the supplier but have not had any reply after a week and my grandson was getting impatient so I took a power supply from an old computer and replaced the faulty power supply with it.

Have I any recourse against the seller for the cost of a new power supply that failed after 9 months?

They did give a year's guarantee.

If they gave a guarantee then you need to look at the T&C of that guarantee.

As far as your consumer rights go, then after 6 months the onus is on the buyer to prove the item had an inherent fault. I am guessing this will be cost prohibitive.
