Squirrel gnawing to get into roof - how do I catch it?!

Hi,
We have a squirrel who gnaws every day trying to get in (it sounds like he's sawing with his teeth) and I'm not sure what to do about it.
We've set a trap all around the house and caught a few of his friends, but this one is super elusive and I have no idea where it's getting up onto the roof (the others I've seen are able to just climb up the bricks) and I'm at a loss how catch it.
Any suggestions please?

Are you dispatching the squirrels after capture? If so, what about an air rifle?0

Are you sure the squirrel (S) haven't made a home in your loft?
It may be an idea to check outside for holes in the eaves etc
If so, keep light on in loft , put ammonia and mothballs uo there and bang the ceiling at various times . That was my problem a few years back .0 -
Are you sure it's not a rat? In which case a rat trap might get rid of it.0
