During the past 3 days l have spent 2 hrs talking to hsbc online banking/ verified by Visa.
A new system has been rolled out during this month which requires a passcode to verify online purchases.
My daughter is a secondary card holder on my account, now, she tried to order on line and verification failed, so l decided to check it out, l was told that any purchase made by the secondary card holder would need to contact me as the passcode could only be sent to the primary card holder.. how ridiculous, is that, and this was confirmed by Verified by Visa, although the also thought this was rather bizarre.
I am sure other secondary card holders will have the same problem

It is bizarre.
I seem to recall that with verified by vsa you are asked to enrol the first time you see the verified by visa screen and choose your own password rather than being sent one.0
