I warned you I was going to whinge.
Sourced some new stock yesterday a mix of brand new items from a specialist shop and vintage items. As usual if I have to make an on the spot decision to buy I check sold listings on ebay on my phone. I also check current listing prices on rarer items just in case the previous sales were a fluke and everyone else has them listed cheaply.
One vintage item , showed 2 sales at around £20/£22, one unsold at £35 - that's all. Currently listed 4 items all over £35. Bought item came home to list last night and lo and behold several of them were sold at around £12, one as low as £0 and there are several listed between £12-£50. I can still make a profit but a much smaller one than I had thought.
I tried it on my phone again this morning and the whole lot shows up - so why didn't it yesterday?
Same thing happened with my new stock, several of the lower sales were not shown when I checked and there are about 3 times more listed than there was when I checked yesterday.
Why doesn't ebay search work?

They have manipulated it so much to favour certain sales/sellers and they dont know howto fix it?
Im puzzled with the certain items have been removed from the search results. WHY???
And worse still is that showing those results often finds the exact item you want to buy. You would have missed out if you didn't show hidden items.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I'm just researching items to sell again and I've noticed that the search results differ depending on whether I log in and search via my business account, or whether I am logged in on a private account.
That's 2 identical searches minutes apart - absolute madness!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
