I've been paid out by halifax in July for ppibut the company I is used don't know yet because I've just received a he t saying that authority has been removed so they can't speak to them. What would happen if I now didn't give the authority and just don't answer them.

You would need to look at your contract. Usually, they have a clause that allows them to bill you. CMCs usually use the courts to recover unpaid bills.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Ultimately you’ve entered in to a contract with them (foolish but there you go), they’ve upheld their end and you have received redress - not sure how you think you’re gonna get away with not paying.
As already stated you would’ve agreed a contract which I can assure you more than covers the CMC in these eventualities... they are also very happy to utilise the courts to get their money.
Pay what you owe and learn from this lesson not to use CMCs in future as they do nothing that you can’t do yourself.0
