    stupid question - I unearthed the premium bonds I was given as a child and their value is £5. If I had won a prize would they automatically tell me?

    Yes they would automatically tell you.

    I also have a £5 premium bond from when I was a child and they have sent a few cheques to me. Obviously they would require accurate up-to-date details to be able to send it to the right place!
