I only switched from BG to Economy Energy 4 months ago when I moved into my flat. I've just had an email to say my energy is going up £244 a year from next month based on my direct debits. I'm not even through the switch process and I already need to move. I'm guessing everyone is going to be putting their prices up?0

The article doesn't mention unit prices / costs ? i.e. pence per KwH ?
The £ amounts are all very well as an indicator of magnitude - but absent unit costs, no-one can work out how it affects them.
(Lack of unit costs is also a problem with "switching sites" - esp. when different switch sites come up with different answers (e.g. costs for the same company) .....
... because they don't "show their workings" ! ):A0 -
I'm not aware of any comparison sites that don't give a breakdown of the calculations including the unit prices.0

I've just gone on to uSwitch.
OK .... after putting in loads of details (but not inside leg ....) ...
... and getting to a list of suppliers ...
...then clicking on a supplier's logo/link
... then scrolling down
Unit Prices appear ....
BUT
i) Only for suppliers available through uSwitch - not the other suppliers listed
ii) Only for dual fuel
USwitch asks if the user has Gas - but assumes electricity - so no "cherrypicking" for the best Gas is allowed !
So still less than transparent:A0
