Insurance rip-off - Lloyds

Lloyds just tried to up my can insurance premium on renewal from £217.76 (already too high) TO £312.72. Rang them up and, surprise, surprise, they could get me a deal with Aviva for £280... only I had already got an Aviva deal for... £187. What a rip off by Lloyds. Don't renew automatically!!!

It is not a rip off.
They offered their price in good time and couldn't beat the price you obtained and you are going elsewhere.
Nice to see the usual MSE rule of thumb applies. i.e. If title includes the words rip off, it usually isnt.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
