I was put straight in the support group three years ago. .no assessment for a year. Then put in the West last year but never called for interviews. Had another assessment recently still in what and have to go to the job centre to chat about going back to work. I'm appealing with the help of links given by Alice and Poppy. Spent five hours on it yesterday and surprisingly easy to do with their advice. I'm like you. .no family. No parents. .nothing.

    Ifingers crossed for you.

Poppy12345 - why can decision maker override consultant's decision? I'm sure their medical knowledge cannot match decision maker's?

I'm not disagreeing with you as you give excellent advice but just need to know for my knowledge.

I think it's because a consultant is a specialist in x condition, not a specialist in work.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

im just gonna tell them they can out me on jsa but ill probably end up back on drugs and then probably kill myself. if they think ah !!!! it ignore him then ill see what happens.

my biggest gripe us you get cut off, then get nothing for a few weeks all over again, when you are unwell and being thrown off esa they also make you lose money starting a fresh JSA claim all over.
im angry thinking others have to go through this more than myself, utter bulls*it

Why ask for medical evidence, if it doesn't have any weight in DM's mind?

That because they mostly go with the assessment report. The DM most likely doesn't look at the evidence. The HCP does that. That's why a report is produced.
