Natwest - CHAPS payment held after all searches clear

Hi -
Bit of a newbie. But I sent a CHAPS payment in branch over a week ago and it was guaranteed to be sent after all the AML and compliance checks were complete.
Firstly - the bank clerk, typed in the wrong account number when sending even though we gave them the printed document with the solicitors account details etc. So this was their mistake.

However, we were told by the banking manager that the payment had been sent from the compliance team to the CHAPS team.. but 2 days later and we're still waiting?!

Has anyone else had the same issue??

Supposed to be completing today and we have been trying to send this payment for the last week!

    Presumably you did check it before signing it?
