But will you hold your wallet vertically to compensate?0 -
Wow, what an utterly dull piece of reporting. Who cares?
It is also inaccurate reporting (and by no means for the first time) as it says,The polymer notes will be issued in Northern Ireland but will be legal currency and usable for cash transactions across the UK.
Notes issued by Ulster Bank can be used in the rest of the UK if someone is prepared to accept them, but they are not legal tender:

It doesn't say that they are legal tender (not that the concept of legal tender is relevant 99% of the time).ValiantSon wrote: »Wow, what an utterly dull piece of reporting. Who cares?

They aren't the first 'vertical notes' issued in the UK either. Northern Bank had them in 1999
For example: http://www.tomchao.com/eu/ireln2fx.jpg
Admittedly this was a special edition.0 -
For goodness sake how can you say the notes are vertical- it's the design! If you want to hold standard notes in portrait position rather than landscape does that make a them worth less/ more????
many a mickle makes a muckle- shame it's a Scots phrase rather than one from NI- or in other words making a mountain out of a molehill!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
