Credit card payments....direct debit.

Does it matter to the credit card company if I pay by direct debit ?

I don’t get paid on the same day each month, so I am not a fan really of direct debits....so does it matter to the card company if I don’t pay that way.

I have my banking app on my phone and have faster payments setup for my cards, so I can pay very quickly when I need to.

It doesn't matter much to them.

Although in the world of sub prime, direct debit customers are often considered lower risk and therefore less subject to rate increases.

    It doesn't matter at all.

Your payment method isn't logged by the CRAs. Somehow I doubt whether CCs pay much attention to how you are paying. DDs are no guarantee of payment being received - if you have insufficient funds they bounce.

I don't use DD and haven't had any problems.

    I suppose I’m sub prime.

However had 2 increases on my aqua card and just had one increase on my amazon card
  • Direct has always seemed the easiest for me. Like the person said above (low risk). Also faster!

i always pay full balance off each month to avoid interest on CC.
i usually pay bulk using a debit card so that leaving about £1 left is paid by DD from a Santander 123 to trigger interest paid to me.
    consider that method maybe ?

    All credit to capital one

Today got a app update that allows to vary the direct debit
Before the option was to pay either the min amount or clear the full balance..

Now have option for a fixed amount between zero and the credit limit

    Well done
