Finally got through to Halifax. Turns out they don't like me either.

    So I'm done.

    HSBC £200
    Amex £100
    Clydesdale £250
    NatWest £125

    Total £675
    in just over a year

Plus I get cash back from various cards and accounts each month.

    Not too shabby.

Since when have AMEX had a switching offer?

Not really a switching offer, but you can get at least 20000 membership rewards worth at least £100 by taking out the Amex Preferred Rewards Gold Card.

I think I'd have waited until it was back up at £125. Then again, they could stop doing incentives altogether, although somehow I doubt it.

Well, First Direct and Halifax might not like me, but Barclays do. Switching NatWest to Barclays for their £132 offer. :D

I'm thinking of Halifax- telling myself that I don't really want to try Barclays!
The last H offer allowed you to switch into an existing account-(which I have) couldn't do it as waiting for NatWest to pay out.
    Hopefully £75 will be increased??

I really really don't want to hunt for any more DDs. That was a ......... nightmare .... my sanity is just about intact!!

    Have Lloyds ever done one?
(Ah, but I asked that about NatWest- how wrong was I??!!)

I'm still bitter about Clydedale screwing me over, awful customer service from them. They just dumped me in the end.

I think the incentives to transfer will stop as banks will realise that few actually stay, only joining for the payout and using minimum services before leaving.
