PPI Company chasing independent winnings

Hi all,

I am posting on behalf of my father, who recently used a select few reclaim companies on his behalf as he was sure he had PPI on a credit card many years ago (10+)

He received a letter from fast track PPI in November to state that they could not find Any PPI and wouldn’t move forward. He then wrote to the ombundsman and contacted Barclaycard directly. After a few Months he received a SMS/Call and letter from Barclaycard direct, to inform them it was successful and they would be making a payment directly to him. In summary he received a total of approx £15,000

A few weeks later (current) now FastTrack ppi aare saying he owes them around 6,000 for their services.

My thoughts on this is that there contract ended when they said they couldn’t locate any PPI insurance anywhere.

Is this scaremonger tactics? Let me know your thoughts team!

What do the terms of the contract say? Normally these companies have the right written into their contracts to claim their payment when PPI gets paid direct to the claimant whether they were involved or not.

Contract should have been cancelled as soon as they came back and said nothing found. It doesn't automatically end (it's in their T & C's)

That letter means they end their contract at that point.

He doesn't. If the CMC writes to say its over then its over.
