Barclay Card PPI

Hoping someone can give me some advice. Two years I claimed for miss sold PPI for two Barclay Card credit cards by writing to them giving them account details etc. Barclay card rejected the claims saying PPI had not been miss sold. Recently I was approached by a PPI company and out of interest gave them details of the two cards. To my astonishment, yesterday I received a letter from Barclay Card staying that PPI had been miss sold on one of the cards and a cheque for £3068.00 was included. They are still making a decision on the other card. As much as I am delighted, I now have to pay the PPI company 30% from the total award. It now seems Barclay Card were wrong when they originally told me PPI had not been miss sold. If I had been paid the compensation when I first applied I would have received the full amount without having to pay a PPI company. Do I have any grounds to ask Barclay Card to cover the costs I have to pay the PPI company considering they should have paid up when I originally applied ?

If you had been told you had not been miss sold, why did you go ahead and employ the company to try again for you.

    And i agree with Taff

Only you engaged a Claim company to act on your behalf and only you are therefore liable for their costs.

    Sorry.

Hi, to be honest a friend who had used the company got £20 for every new customer she got for them. It was no win no fee and I never expected them to win this for me as the claim had already been turned down by Barclay Card, so was a bit shocked (in a nice way) when I got the good news. I suppose I need to be grateful despite having to pay 30%, as I would never have had anything at all if I hadnt appointed them just a bit gutted that Barclay Card didnt pay out when I applied. Thanks for your advice folks.
