Lets hope it is still allowed to renew0 -
I've used Kaspersky for years and trust it.
The link to Tomsguide in post #5 gives a good insight into how this scare evolved so that you can make your own judgement.
As one journalist in the story says - Just wait to see which will be the next story in the spiral - Chinese computers, Amazon Cube devices and so on that could be lurking behind a dark cloak.
Anyone here remember the Year 2000 scare. I believe that started as a casual magazine article that spiraled into needless panic."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

Bad news as mine has only 30 days left and have been a very happy customer.0 -
They should be offering Kaspersky for free as it's a bit absurd having to pay to install Russian spyware.0

Then why do they say withdrawn to new users only0 -
I once installed Norton on a brand new install of Windows and it found 24 viruses. Not bad considering the PC had a new HD fitted and a fresh (installed from official media) install of Windows and no internet connection enabled.
I guess the Kaspersky roumours were started by a rival firm in order to discredit Kaspersky.
I have used Kaspersky for the last 7 years and have managed to avoid all the viruses that have laid my friends PCs to waste.Never Knowingly Understood.

I've only ever known one person that had a virus infect their PC. Virus are even rarer these days, it's Malware you need to protect against.
The hype around Virus's is perpetuated by anti-virus companies for obvious reasons.....Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

would be interested to know which viruses and why the pcs couldn't be restored as for many years before win10 i didn't use any virus software and my pc lived to tell the tale"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
The only AV I use is the Microsoft Security Essentials or whatever it is called on Windows 7. I scan occasionally with SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes but I never have any problems.
If you are careful and know what you are doing you are unlikely to pick up anything bad.0
