Cheap Energy Club Poll - How do you rate your energy provider’s recent service?

Hi everyone

I wanted to share on this board that we're running our six monthly poll over on the main site this week to rate your energy supplier's service.

The results of this poll are used in Cheap Energy Club to display service results under each tariff, plus it also powers our 'supplier rating' filter. This allows you to filter out from your results providers who have been poorly rated by our users. We also use this information when selecting our 'top picks'.

We sometimes see posts and emails asking us why do you feature Provider XYZ, so it'd be great to get as many votes as possible (good or bad). If you've not already voted, you can do so at the link below.

Thanks

The limit of 2 suppliers is too restrictive as many people will have switched suppliers within the 6 month poll period. With separate suppliers for gas and electricity, a consumer could have experience of up to 4 suppliers within the polling period.

    Hi Hengus

I understand that's true, but our aim is to get current customers of each provider to vote, rather than voting for who has supplied you at any point in the past 6 months.

    Thanks

A firm, who cannot be named except on their dedicated thread, with over 25,000 part time salesmen - with a vested interest, always do very well on any reader's poll in WHICH etc!

I suspect they will also do well in this poll.

Any meaningful supplier feedback has to be based on the whole experience from joining; billing and finally leaving. I can think of one supplier that I could never recommend because, inter alia, of final billing issues. Looking at feedback on Trustpilot, Faceback and this site, this still an ongoing problem.

To follow your logic, if I was with Supplier A for 3 months but left because of poor CS, billing, account management etc, and I have been with Supplier B for a month with the transfer complete but no online account yet set up and no first bill, you would rather I gave feedback on Supplier B? If that is MSE CEC's position, then I am not sure what value there is in providing any supplier feedback to a MSE poll. I would rather that the poll had told me to avoid Supplier A. Have you guys really thought this whole feedback thing through?

I agree 100% with everything you have both said. This poll and its results will be a travesty and should not be used by any sane person.
I have put in one supplier I left 2 months ago and with a poor score as I don't want anyone else to have to suffer their incompetence.
I was annoyed by the fact that I could only nominate 2 choices so I choose my past and current gas supplier as the current one shows how customers should be treated and the past doesn't.

Hmm, Technically I'm with E.ON now, although I've still not had a final bill from Iresa, so have I really left them?

I know who I'd rather score.

E.ON haven't exactly covered themselves in glory in the 7 weeks since I switched, but at least they were easy to deal with and resolved things quickly.

    Agreed,
Well I voted, but have changed recently so not sure how valid it is, as only 2 allowed, but job done

Thanks all for your feedback around the vote numbers. Given the number of you who think this would be beneficial, we'll take a look and see if we can make this tweak, either this time around, or possibly for future polls.
