I've read before multiple credit searches on the same day from the same company only count 1 for scoring purposes - is this true?
e.g. if you've got 3 x Natwest searches from 1 day, will Experian show 3 x searches to a future lender, or only show 1?
Since lenders don't get names of other enquirers, I'd imagine (if the above is true) that it would need to be Experian (and other CRAs, where appropriate) making this decision to mask the additional 2 searches....?
If so, that presents the question as to if they do why they don't also mask them when an individual checks their own report....
I know there's an Experian rep on here... hopefully they can enlighten us, officially???

The searches are probably a credit check, an identity check and then something else.
Perfectly normal0 -
Sometimes you get 2 x full credit checks - 1 at current address and 1 at former address (or that's how Experian and Equifax present it).
Also if you were to apply for 2 products, they'd do two checks.
Not concerned about the checks themselves, just wondering if they actually are 'consolidated' in the case of more than 1 credit check - as there's nothing to stop you applying for, say, 2 x [Company Name] Credit Cards on the same day0
