Filling in EHIC card online- Confused

I am currently in the middle of filling in an online form for EHIC Cards for my wife, daughter and myself. I have gone to the form via the NHS website (so I know it is genuine). I've put my wife as the main person and my self as her partner and our daughter as a child/ dependent. However I've just noticed that a child is classed on the website as 16 and under. She is 17. So do I need to do a separate application for her or can she be added to my wife's application?
Or would I be better applying separately for myself and daughter in separate applications? Which would mean having to use three different email accounts ?

If your daughter has an NI number and e mail account, can she apply for one herself?

She's autistic so anything to fill form is very difficult for her to do. She gets confused. I can fill it on her behalf just that on my wife's application I can add myself as a dependant. I may end up doing that applying for daughter and myself on two separate applicaitons to be sure I have done it correctly

It would cost no more to have three separate cards. NHS number can be used instead of NINo for an application.

  • I have just done them and did separate ones for a family of 4, thought it would be better to have individual ones as I wasn't sure what happened if they travelled to different places at the same time so didn't want to risk it.
