Multi vehicle insurance

Looking for help with the following, please. My husband and I have 3 vehicles: A small car which I use for commuting, a larger car which my husband uses for commuting and which we both use socially and a van which we use to transport the dogs when we go out walking, holidays, shows/competitions etc.

Both car insurance policies are due for renewal in May, the van in September. The van is registered & insured in my name and all my no claims bonus is on the van. I haven't had to make a claim in over 15 years and have never had to make a claim when the fault has been mine since passing my driving test in 1979.

I have built up 1 year no claims bonus on my car but can't protect the bonus until I've built it up to 4 years.

As I can't physically drive 2 vehicles at once is there any way my insurance can be set up differently?

I have had extra cars where i just called the insurer and switched them as required, charge was neglible at the time. But these days its likely to be costly.

Swap the van and a car for a dual purpose vehicle. Plenty of cars with van like space in the rear, especially with the seats down.

I have a Mondeo estate and with the rear seats down there is far more space than a transit connect.

  • Not sure what you are asking but all vehicles will need to be insured??

Maybe a multi-car policy might save you some money so try a quote with Admiral and Aviva. With Admiral you can add the van later when the inurance is due (not sure about Aviva but probably the same).
