Happy MJ, didn't need to. They were trying to bill me but once I proved them incompetent they dropped it.
they deal with hundreds of thousands of claims. it isn't surprising that some go awry.
no one forces you to claim, but still you can't resist having a pop.
seems a bit ungrateful ...

If you can prove the mistake was made by your previous employer then they will have to pay it not you.
I was wrongly taken off emergency tax in a previous job and when I had a similar letter to you with a similar amount owing, I told them I paid what my employer took off me and it was payrolls mistake.
Tax office agreed and chased them for payment and told me the matter was closed and I never had to pay it.0 -
