Can someone please advise me about Harrington Brooks they have just told me their success rate is 92%??? is that true??

Its unlikely as that is higher than the uphold rate for PPI in general.

One firm I definitely recommend you do NOT use is Civil Claim Services Limited.

Its Director is called [TEXT REMOVED BY FORUM TEAM].

Somebody calling himself [TEXT REMOVED BY FORUM TEAM] has been spamming here attempting to advocate the services of his company. That suggests a degree of desparation.

Remember - you can complain yourself, free of charge, and will be no less successful than Civil Claim Services or any other ambulance chaser.

If you do need help, call the Financial Ombudsman Service on 0800 023 4567

Even the cost of the call is free - and if you do win, you will get to keep it all.

You decide - "no win no fee" or "no fee whether you win or not". To me it is a bit of a no brainer.
  • You do not need to pay ANY CMC to pursue a complaint.

If you are unsure what to do, go here.

These people provide ALL the help you need and do it free - they even pay for you to call them.

They are far more competent that any CMC and unlike a CMC they can force a business to pay you compensation if they see fit.

If you really want to use a CMC you should research it carefully.

    Questions to ask:

Does it go onto other peoples websites and make spam posts in contraventions of the rules of that website? If it treats them with contempt for them, it will probably not act in your best interests either.

Does it claim it will be more successful than you will be if you do it yourself? If so, it is in breach of its own regulators rules. Can you trust such a business?

And if they are so good, why do they have to resort to such underhand methods to get business?
  • Odd the way in which Magpie's comments appear a month apart with no replies in between.. :)

    1) Magpie has never recommended any template, just stated a fact that it is very easy to make a complaint on your own. Which to anyone who has the slightest bit of competency, it is.
The level of competency required being to pick up a telephone and dial 0800 023 4567 - the number of the helpline at the Financial Ombudsman Service.
