Travelling with wrist in plaster & Possible travel insurance problems?

A week ago I broke my wrist in a fall (simple fracture & no surgery). I am due to fly to Italy 5 weeks from now) so have to let Insure & Go know. Has anyone had any problem with their travel insurance in a similar situation? I may have the plaster off by then but won't know until nearer the time. I am a bit nervous about letting them know.

It is not a problem, many people I have known over the years have flown with plaster casts. As you say there is a good chance the cast will be off before you fly but if not all you need to do is ask the hospital to supply a split cast to allow for the air pressure in the aircraft. You should not need to inform the insurance company :0)0

I have now informed Insure & Go as I knew i would have to. It was ok. I am covered for any complication without additional payment. However, if i booked another trip before my current policy expired, I would have to pay an additional £28 premium. I am not planning to do so until next year.0
