  • A lot depends on how vociferous a company is, for example Intel will go after anyone using the word Intel even when part of a longer brand name regardless of whether it resembles a logo or industry type use.

    ok , why are there 1000s of fake/counterfeit "apple" products from china , available on ebay /amazon


    ebay/amazon do nothing to stop them

    eBay and Amazon do pull counterfeit listings when reported, it is not done automatically though when an item is listed. Just because some people get away with it doesn't mean it is legal.

    Exactly. And it's not as though they're listed as 'counterfeit'. They're hosting the sale or auction, not manually checking every listing.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
