Amex Gold points?

I've just got a Amex Gold card. The perks seem quite good.
They are giving away 20,000 points which can be converted into £100 worth of vouchers. The catch is you have to spend £2000 in the first 3 months. I don't think I will be spending that much on this card in that time frame.
Would spending count as transferring ? Wondered if I could transfer to another account and then pay it back into it to qualify. Not sure if that's allowed. Any feedback would be great.
Thanks

Anything like that wouldnt count as a purchase and so doesnt gain MR points.
You could mess around with PayPal as a way to get the money out and then pay it back to the card but you then erode the value of the MR points by having the PayPal transaction fees.
20,000 MR points to a £100 voucher is very bad use of them as it values them at only 0.5p each. Typically you can get much better value with moving them to Avios or other loyalty schemes but that then depends on how much you travel etc.
With bonus transfers etc you can fairly easily achieve 1.5p per MR and many manage much higher with careful use0 -
Why didn't you think of how you would spend the points before getting the card?
The easiest way is probably to buy gift vouchers at Tesco, you get 150 clubcard points per £50, as well as the usual 50 clubcard points, and the Amex Gold gives double MR on supermarkets in first year.0
