    Supermarket ones vary widely. Some are very good, and not necessarily the more expensive ones. Some I had from M&S last year were gorgeous, not cheap though. Also I find that the best peppers are Spanish ones in Winter and Spring.

    I think a problem for home growers is that seed is developed by large companies, and hence it is tilted towards the commercial grower. So even if you grow them yourself, you do not necessarily get better flavour. I have been disappointed with home grown toms. Hopefully this years will be better.
