Child got £50 month to invest

Hi all,
This has proberly been asked loads of times so sorry before i start
I've got a newborn and what to invest £50 a month plus £250 CTF, for 18+years,
What whould you recommend? Bank Account, unit trusts , bonds ,isas ect, plus taking advantage of tax situation, can unit trusts, isas ect be held in my childs name
