Ideas for a room divider

Just moved into a new bungalow- livingroom,diningroom & kitchen all one large room. Most of the ones I've seen are far too expensive and quite boring :-/ :-/ :-/

cant you stick a stud wall up??
if not
what about one of those paneld screens like you see actors in their dressing rooms getting changed behind
you can make one yourself out of mdf and have as many panels as you like
then paint and decorate it
or you could make a fake archway
or curtain it off into sections0 -
Do not be tempted by the folding wicker screens from IKEA. They fall apart as soon as you look at them, never mind move them, because they have hooks not hinges to join the bits together. Get or make one with hinges! See if you can find a local handyman / friend to do it for you and design your own. There's bound to be a web page showing you how ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

How about utilise some shelving (e.g. tall book shelf but without back panel) as room divider? You can then put some books or some pretty objects on shelves to make it nice.
My friend uses this method to separate her lounge and dining area in her house and it works well.0 -
