Need a little help with home insurance

Ok for the past 2 years i have had my first flour flat insured through the halifax, who it the time provided my mortgage.
I want to be able to shop around for may buildings insurance, but i do not have the rebuild cost of the flat (tha halifax does not require it for there insurance policy)
Does anyone know of any insurance companies that do not require the rebuild cost, like the halifax.
The halifax gave me a 10% discount last year, then put my policy up 15%.
Thanks
Chris

many companies offer a " blanket cover" whether upto £300K or totally unspecified
Try Paymentshield, Pru, Liverpool Vic
Paymentshield don't normally deal direct - so you could look at my referral link

or look at calculations at

that said are you sure you have to take building insurance on your flat- many are done via lease / management feesAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0
