No sound on spotify

My Spotify used to work perfectly and now it has no sound. No matter what I play it's completely silen. Everything else I play (iTunes etc) works as usual.
Any ideas?

near the play pause buttons (in spotify) there is a volume control with a white slider. make sure that is dragged all the way to the right.

I know this is from ages ago but people might be searching for the same problem.
If it is vista right click on the speaker at bottom right.Then make sure it has not muted spotify. Mutes it for me every time I load it up!0
