Invoice for not parking a motorcycle in a car park bay

As keeper of a motorcycle an invoice for £100 has been received for parking on the pavement at a retail park. This has never previously been an issue. Does the keeper need to pay this invoice?

It is not a fine.

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people.

The Keeper has protections in law that The Driver does not. Parking scammers read this forum.

If/when it is rejected, read post 3 of the NEWBIES to learn how to make a second stage appeal to PoPLA.
Get pics of the site and signage as soon as possible in readiness for PoPLA.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

while you are following the good advice above ........

complain to the manger of any shops you visited ....... if they say that they do not own the land then ask them who does ..... then complain to them.

remember this is as well as doing the formal appeals

Why are you calling this a fine? It's just a UKPC windscreen PCN and how to deal with that on day 26, is explained in the NEWBIES thread already.
