Freeware/ cheap 'net nanny' type software

Options
Hi

My 7 and a half year old daughter (that half a year is VERY important ;) ) is becoming keen on using the home PC because they do a lot of ICT at school now. They are teaching them to search on Google etc. and are using MS Word plus some other programms installed at school. Obviously at school the computers will have some form of software on to prevent children stumbling on anything untoward on the internet but at home we have nothing like that (never needed to before now). I am happy for her to use the PC but want to ensure she cannot look at things on the internet that are unsuitable.

Is there any good freeware or good cheap software which acts like the net nanny software? Any recommendations at all on how to kiddy-proof the PC?

Thanks :D
