does not sell the most common brand of gas ( is it LPG anyway ? ) and no deposit on bottlesAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Look around for a Flogas supplier. They usually will supply without demanding a £60 deposit. If they do charge it will probably only be £15 but I've never had to pay.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Yeah I'm told thats lots of brands ( other than Callor) that don't charge a deposit- mine says Alta-gas
remember to get the right type ( assume for BBQ its Butane)- the size of the regulator gives a guideAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Have you tried your local rubbish tip? They are often dumped and can sometimes be found fly-tipped, especially if travellers have recently been nearby. I think Calor recently had an appeal for empty ones to be returned in return for a donation to charity. It's then only a matter of taking it to a gas dealer and swapping it for a refilled one, cleaning up the environment at the same time.0

I don't know where you live but the internet gives the parent company as Flowgas 01132 497140 or https://www.flogas.co.uk has an interactive map of dealers and retailers.0

Alta gas went bankrupt and was taken over by Flogas so now you've got a "free cylinder" you can exchange it for a full flogas one. However, the reason it was in a layby was because there wasn't a deposit on them and so the lazy couldn't be bothered to ring Altagas to get it collected.beefster wrote:Thanks for the info.......... Are you sure the one you've found is empty? If you examine it carefully you may find the weight of the empty cylinder and simply putting it on some bathroom scales you tell you if it weighs more than the tare weight. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

You can buy a little guage that tells you how much gas is in the bottle. They are about £2 from camping shops.Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006
