Luxury Siam, Curry Butty & other daily comps - possible scam?

I thought that some of the sites with daily comps that have sprung up recently looked a bit suspicious, so I looked them up and found out that they are all run by the same company, Keeffy Limited, who have never filed any accounts with Companies House and are proposed to be struck off.

I couldn't find any winners of these comps on here. It wouldn't surprise me if the prizes they are offering are non-existent and that they are just collecting email addresses or are set up to attract traffic for marketing purposes.

Luxury Siam and Love Australia are one-page websites. At first I thought they were travel agents/tour operators, but they only exist to provide the competition and nothing else.

Holiday Surgery say they were established with "the aim of bringing together all of the information that you need in order to plan and book your perfect holiday" but the website consists of a dozen or so links to holiday booking sites such as Opodo, Expedia, etc. And their T&Cs state "Holiday Surgery reserve the right to withdraw this competition at any stage without notice." So they can withdraw the competition after the end date without even selecting a winner?!

It all looks very dodgy to me. I wonder if there is a way of finding out whether the prizes actually exist?

You shouldn't feel bad bella. I'm not certain that they are dodgy, they just look a bit odd to me. I've been entering them every day for months though

Hi Tinkerbell _ I also thought these sites looked suspicious & haven't entered any of these comps - i opened these up & quickly closed them down again for all the reasons you have named above.
I have worked for many years in IT & although I am not a 'techie' I definately thought these sites looked a bit dodgy

No need to feel bad bella - the work all you guys put in to posting comps is unbelievable & is much appreciated by all who use this forum. My dream is to one day get one in first:rotfl::rotfl:

Hope we are wrong but good to have the issue highlighted

:eek:i too have been entering these comps but cant say ive had anymore spam from these than i had previously, bella dont feel bad bout posting them no one knows if they are dodgy or not and most posters on here do an awesome job of finding comps for our pleasure x

I've just entered 3 of these....before reading this:o
but I have looked at there T&C's and it says

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

also it seems to have links to ThePrizeFinder - UK Competitions : Loquax
at the bottom of the page?

I know they are probably stretching the true with the spam stuff, but will let you know if I get lots!
