Is the ebuyer the best price for 512 MB?
I remember someone posted a link a comparison engine of some sort with all prices for SD/flash memory some time ago. Does anyone remember where it is?

I need to buy a 512 MB SD and would like the cheapest delivery charges (need 512 MB as this is the max I can use!)

It's the cheapest I have seen. I have been keeping my eye out for one too.
  • seems a really good price. i also bought a 512mb mmc recently for the above price and was looking for a 1 gig. also sd seemed to be more expensive than mmc (faster i believe) so best i've seen and again i've been looking. will get one, but prices seem to be coming down week by week.
    thanks for the link.

My guess is that you are buying this for the concorde camera mentioned in the other thread. The instructions for the camera say that it will support SD cards up to 512Mb.

However, I am wondering whether this is not simply a reflection that those were the largest cards around when the camera was originally manufactured (a year or two back). Do any of the tech gurus happen to know whether there is any reason why a camera would not be able to take a larger cpacity card ??

Ebuyer were the cheapest I could find when I bought 2 x 512MB last week and now they are even cheaper. They are offering free delivery on these Viking cards at the minute so they are coming out more competitive than other retailers.

  • Thanks, Tharweb.

Just, last week, bought the cheapest I could find locally; Overclockers @ £35. Don't really need another just yet but this is such a good deal I've just ordered one. Ironic really, considering your signature!

Before buying a 1gig card, make sure your camera will accept a card of that size. For example, the Lumicron cameras that Somerfield were selling cheap will only accept an sd card up to 512mb....

Re the max size of SD card.

I can see no earthly reason why a 1 gig card shouldn't work, either.

I think that you could be missing out on this amazing deal if you don't clarify this for yourselves.

As pointed out earlier, it it probable that this was the largest capacity around at the time of your cameras production but I must admit, that is a little strange.

I think it would work with no probs.
