Ryanair - Paying for flights

Hi,
I live in the UK and I'm trying to book flights from Dublin to Barcelona for February. However when I'm trying to book theres no option for Maestro card to pay by as it's doing the prices in Euros.
Does anyone know of any way to get round these messages and be able to book the flights? Theyre really cheap so I'm wondering if they do the fares by phone too?

You really need the mods to shift this to the Travel (main) section.
can you not get someone else to pay on their card?0 -

Hi lufcgirl,
Here's what you can do:
1. Create an account with http://www.entropay.com/.
2. Fund the Virtual Visa card with GBP from your Maestro card (don't select for your Virtual Visa card to be in EUR - it must be in GBP for this to work).
3. Book your Ryanair flight and select Visa Electron as the payment method.
4. Enter the details of your Entropay Virtual Visa card.
You then will have not only paid for your flights with funds originating from your UK maestro card, as you wanted, but you will also have saved having to pay Ryanair's credit card fees, by using Visa Electron as the payment method. (The Ryanair website recognises Entropay's Virtual Visa card as Visa Electron, for some reason, but only if you selected GBP as the currency of the card).

entropay fees http://www.entropay.com/consumer.fees.phpPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Thanks richardw, forgot to mention the fees there.
Entropay charge 4.95% of the balance you choose to load your card with. Let's say you choose to put £50 on the Virtual Visa card, they'll add £2.48 and so charge your maestro card £52.48.
Depends on the cost of your flights of course, but probably still a lot cheaper than Ryanair's credit / debit card fee.0 -
Hi lufcgirl, I've moved this to the main Travel Board for you

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Get a better bank account with a visa debit card that works internationally.
Better still, open a basic account with an electron card so you can pay with no card fees. In my experience the co-op is easiest but I think halifax offers them too. There's no credit check (due to no overdraft or other credit being offered) and if you're on the electoral roll you won't be refused, it's really very simple and you will be able to pay without any probem.0 -
