Monitor Audio i-deck Speaker Dock for iPod (merged)

I've been looking for a classy and reasonably priced sound dock for my ipod for a little while. I thought it was a straight fight between Bose and Apple, but having read a few reviews I discovered the Monitor Audio i-deck was at least an equal competitor (note that i'm not technically minded enough to confirm this).

The great news is that whilst Bose weighs in at £250, and Apple is slightly cheaper at £230, Amazon has got the Monitor Audio i-deck for £85 at the moment, which is way cheaper than even ebay. Just ordered mine and got a delivery date of 11-13th december. I'm chuffed.

This is a fantastic deal. I bought one of these systems last january for £250!!!!! In my opinion it sounds better than the bose system and can be very loud if needed.

Can anyone confirm if they have used this with a new Ipod Nano - reviews on Amazon suggest it comes with a Nano dock - but that it is not compatiable with the New Nano?

would you mind letting us know what you think of it once it arrives, I currently have £155 saved to go towards a Bose one, so will be really pleased if these really are good! I have an ipod nano I was bought it for Christmas (05) so will it be compatible with that? x

While I am sure this is a good deal, I just googled it and looked at the cached Amazon page from a week ago - it was priced at £79.99! So while a good deal, £5 cheaper a week ago

reading the reviews on this it seems that it is now nano compatible. apparently it comes with a nano dock attachment. will be happy to confirm this upon receipt, although i'm sure you could buy a separate attachment anyway.

Hi people

A few months back on my sons birthday I purchased a Nano along with a small docking station and compatible speakers, from Costco.

The speakers have now blown so I intend to return the complete package for a refund.

If I go ahead with the above purchase could you tell me what's the best deal on compatible Ipods around at the moment?

Total re fund's approx £165 and it's a 2G nano.

I got this the last time round when it was £99.99 and am more than happy with it, sound quality is excellent and it looks awesome.

It comes with the dock for the first generation Nano, but I recently got the 2nd Gen Nano and that doesn't quite fit. I've contacted monitor for a new dock but haven't heard anything yet.

I got one in black when amazon were knocking 20% off when you purchased an ipod the same time.

There is no adapter for the 2nd Gen Nanos but I'm sure you are able to to get one.
Sound quality is good for the size of the speakers and don't dissort at high volume.
Comes with a remote control with basic functions Volume Stop, Forward, Back , Stanby etc and charges ipod when docked.

Whats missing?
Remote could have had menu options.Theres no sound adjustment (bass trebble) other than volume. But at less than half price you can't complain and well worth it.
