You will find details for the deal on pepipoo. Someone on there did talk about approaching the prosecutor - you will need to plead noot guilty too both and attend and agree to plead guilty to the speeding provided they drop the fail to furnish - they can't convict you of the speeding without you being identified. whatever you do don't plead guilty to the speeding ahead of time. The deal only works if you accept your guilt and you were the driver.

This is the best you can hope for as you have completed the more serious offence. You can't fight the speeding offence without being culpable for the S172 offence.

    Thank you,

Shall I also leave the part blank where they are asking for me to give a reason for not being guilty?

    No, that's fairly fundamental.

You can't just say "I'm not guilty, even though the evidence shows that I am, but I'm not going to come up with any reason or excuse. Just believe me, please..."

    What are you replying to?

Scan/photograph the letter/form, with paper over your name & address, post to an image hosting site, and link the picture/s into your thread at pepipoo, asking for advice- ie This is what I received, what do I do now?

The reason for the thread stopping on pepipoo is they don't really know what you have, and are discussing if a "not guilty" plea to an S172 charge could succeed.

This site does have some helpful & knowledgeable posters, but honestly you will be better off with pepipoo, provided you give them all the facts.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I think OP would be best leaving this thread and concentrate on the thread @ pepipoo.

Posting on two forums doesn't get twice the advice. It invariably leads to twice the amount of confusion.

In general, I would agree that pepipoo is a better source for advice.

However, in this case the different approaches are probably down to the OP providing different information, i.e the probability of his facing a far more serious charge.

Maybe so, but i can only speak from my own experience.

Ask on here: all your fault. You're going to hell. No chance of you being saved. You're going to get crucified. You're the worst person to ever have lived. Oh and policemen never do anything wrong, plus you lie to us - we were never there but we just know it.

Asked on peppipoo: we understand your situation. If you do XYZ then you'll avoid that fine, the police will have egg on their face because they made a mistake.

Me: are you sure? I've been told ABC so surely i'm going to hell, right?
Peppipooers: just do as we tell you & watch what happens.

Followed their advice (note: the same details were given to both forums), fine was cancelled, no further action.

Like i said, i can only speak from my own personal experience on both forums, so as said born again is 110% correct.
Although .... thanks to the guy who did refer me over to that forum at the time. He was actually helpful.

Given such silly quotes such as...
Shall I also leave the part blank where they are asking for me to give a reason for not being guilty?

Wonder what the judge would make on seeing that section left blank... Laugh & then hand out the max they can for wasting their time....
Best to stay out of it.

Really do hate it when info is drip thread. As is clear from the post here & there....

That's not how the system works. The judge probably won't even see the form. There will be a hearing at which the OP will be asked for the basis of his defence, before a date is set for trial.

However, I agree with your last para!
