Advice re TV and Sound Bar please

Rather aged Freeview LG TV (Model LG 32LK330U ) bought in 2011. Still going strong but sound is not so good with hearing aids. Would this sound bar LG LAS260B (a) work with the TV; and (B) improve clarity of speech? Limited budget and found this sound bar for a very good price so would be very grateful for any help please.…

Another option (for those that have one) is using headphones via the controller of an Xbox 1.
You can listen via 3.5mm whilst everyone else can hear through the TV speakers.
I used this method when I blew an ear drum so we didnt need the TV up loud.
