My apologies, I did mis-read your post. I will get in touch with hers, thank you.

Thanks for the reply Quentin, and your alternative advise. would my insurer not do that for me? Or will that still ultimately affect my insurance the next time around?

Thanks Her drive is directly opposite mine, and as a car was parked outside her house on the road she didn't have enough room to turn the car, hence went into mine. If she had reversed the other way it would have been fine. I shall have a read round the forum for other scenario's, but will take your advice and ring my…

As long as he is confident that they are something the current girlfriend would wear then yes he can recycle. As long as she doesn't know. Its not a big deal. Why spend more money, MSE or not. (I am not a romantic- can you tell?)

My understanding is that lots of jobs require a CRB check if you are in a position of trust with confidential or sensitive information, or info that you could use for financial gain, not just working with children or vulnerable adults. For example NHS Admin staff get CRB checked even if they have no contact with patients.…

Not sure how far it will get you, but round where I live, if I want to report an abandoned vehicle I contact the council. Can you try ringing the council? If it was them that arranged the private company to take it then they should be sorting it out. At the end of the day surely someone should have checked with the owner…

Just a point as well (sorry if you already know) that if you are starting work on Monday morning, your actual sign off date that you write in your booklet is the Sunday. I filled my booklet in and handed it into the job centre on the friday before I started work.

Hi, as marrowgirl said, the nhs are pretty good with helping sort out childcare. When I received my confirmation letter they also sent leaflet about it (not that I needed as I have no kids). I would definitely ring HR. There must be so many Healthcare professionals that work shifts and need childcare, don't be afraid to…

Yes, do tell them. Because as wonderful as it sounds, it wont be so great when they do realise and ask for their money back.
-
As BeenieCat says, but when you actually go to sign they will still ask you to tell them what you have done, even though you have written it down lol

I can only go on what happened at mine:- All they will do is go through whats been said over the phone. Have they asked you to take copies of ID or mortgage insurance, and a copy of your P.45? They then tend to just explain what happens, and set up a job seekers agreement which states where you will look for vacancies and…

Redundancy pay will not be affected in any way. However if he has claimed for any notice pay they will take into account his earnings within the notice period.

I can't see there is any harm in re-applying as long as they have not stated that "previous applicants need not apply" as I have seen some do before. Of course there is always the possibility that they say no again, but does that really matter? And if they recognise you from your last appllication, at least it shows you…

Hi CONGRATULATIONS :j on getting the job. As for your dilemma now I think only you can decide how much you want or need this job. If I remember correctly from a previous thread that you wanted to go back to work more for the social contact as opposed to an immediate financial gain, if so you are not forced to take it (like…

CONGRATULATIONS Madmish:j That is fantastic news, well done.

I just told people the truth. I was made redundant, like has been said above, its amazing how many people you hear of in the same boat. Also, I found people tend to look out for job opportunities for you (sometimes can be annoying) but someone even saw a little advert in a shop window i would never have seen. You get the…

Hi Madmish, Well done for getting the interview, I think that in itself now days is a major achievement. You have researched the role etc so that is a great start as they will perhaps ask you what you understand of the role, and other questions that come along you can tailor the answers to the job description. I think a…

I guess I need to count myself lucky then the staff that I have come across. Maybe its the size of the job centre or where it is. Mine is in a smallish town, so may not have such a vast workload everyday. And the story you told about the oldish chap just made me feel really sad. I really hope you get something soon.

I have been signing on for 4 months now, and have never had a problem with the staff at my Job Centre. I always find if you go in , smile and be pleasant, chances are that is how they will respond to you. At the end of the day, they are just human, and are just doing a job with rigid guidelines. I think if you have a…

Hate Decisions, I hope now you have done the deed that you feel better and calmer, and good luck in the coming months, I hope something turns up for you soon.
