  • I’m receiving calls fine. I did have several people call me to check it wasn’t a fault my end. Had two more calls this morning that cut off instantly. Strange. Then finally one that didn’t, offered 250mb for £19 350mb for £25 or 500 for £31. I’d been paying £25 for 500mb so not amazing but went for the 350mb as I’ve not…
  • They called back from an 020 number but literally got out ‘this is virgin media’ before it cut off again. Called that number back and it just says VM tried to call you etc. I’ve so far had four calls all of which have cut off instantly upon saying hello.
  • Retentions called half an hour ago. The call got cut off and they e not called back. God that annoys me no end. Hate when that happens. There’s no number to call them back is there?
  • That time again. Put my cancellation in today. Best they could offer was £28 for 250mb. I was paying £25 for 500mb so didn’t think £3 more for half the speed was a decent deal. Will see if they call me back.
  • I called very today as it’s long past the 14 days they say they need to process refunds. Rep kept trying to fob me off ‘just wait some more days please’ etc. She kept saying it’s 14 working days. But the website doesn’t say that. It says 14 days and then 3 working days to process refunds after receipt of the returned…
  • And still no update from very. It was delivered to them on 27/10/24. Returns have always been credited within a few days in the past. But then I’ve only ever returned clothes before.
  • No updates as yet. The iPad was delivered back to very on the 27th. But I’ve not heard anything as yet.
  • Thank you. I’ll send them an email to that effect tonight.
  • Thank you. I really appreciate that. I’ll report back when the iPad arrives back with very and they make their decision.
  • Thank you. Yeah when I called very the woman I spoke to didn’t have a clue what I was talking about when I mentioned the 14 day cooling off and basically just kept saying it’s opened so we won’t accept it. She put me on hold for a second then came back and told me to return it but that it may not be accepted. I’m…
  • Thanks. Would this still apply as we’re no longer members of the EU? I put it on my very account yes, with the intention of paying in full once they’d applied the 10% cashback.
  • Not insinuating anything. Proceeds to insinuate I’m lying about not using the device. I turned it on to check there was no screen defects. Then put it back in the box. I didn’t turn it on, not use it then decide it wasn’t a big upgrade. As I explained, there’s thousands of comparison videos. Side by side comparison…
  • How so? I don’t need examine or use the device to watch reviews online or look at specs/compare to the device I already have, check benchmarks etc. Yes, that is 100% something I should have done before ordering. But I didn’t. And it’s not like I can change it now. I’ve already said if I’m not within my rights then I’ll…
  • You’re right. Nothing I can do at this point but see what they say when it gets back to them. If they refuse it I will probably just accept it back and try and recoup as much as possible selling privately.
  • When I called I said I was returning using the 14 day cooling off period. And I did inform them I’d opened the box and switched the device on.
  • I opened the box. Turned the device on. Looked at the screen to check for dead pixels or defects. There was non. I turned the device off and put it back in the box.
  • Please don’t apologise. I appreciate the replies.
  • Surely opening and checking the item is working falls under ‘what is necessary to establish functioning’ of the goods?
  • Nothing. I switched it on to make sure the screen was working and okay etc. then switched it off and put it back in the box.
  • Haha now I’m even more confused. If I’m not entitled to a refund then fair enough, it’s my own fault for opening. I’ll take it back and try and sell it privately. But if I am entitled to a refund that would obviously be my preferred option.
