  • It's on and off for months . Well from nov to May we were billed £500 for 6 months. United utilities have told us that's over the estimated useage for a year and the equivalent of 7-8 ppl living in a house. From May to June it cost us £200. Yes it's all well and good saying get the walls tiled but I don't think we should…
  • It's been a pain in the ar** .. I'll have to try use the shower til wed and hopefully not soak the place haha
  • Yes we bought the hoise with the tiles half way up the wall - didn't see it is an issue at the time as we had a working en suite and we are shower people so we knew we would rarely have a bath .. Til now. we had always planned to put more tiles up to the ceiling eventually and add more to the bathroom but it wasn't a…
  • We had always planned to do if just not yet as there wasn't a need to. Until the shower broke . Don't see why we should be doing it now just as a reaction to them not getting the shower fitted correctly on top of our now high bills. :( Thanks tho x
  • Once the shower has been fixed I can stop being forced to use the bath and hopefully get our bills down ? I'll be taking daily readings once this is over to get them to a normal level again. Same house type as ours over the road only pays £30 for water and £50 for energy. I'm paying £70 more :(
  • Hi thanks ! The shower can be used technically but if you stand up to use it it drenches the walls as tiling is only half way up We have asked them when this first began to tile the walls fully so we wouldn't have to use the bath but they just ignored us. Now I have had the bill thru I am fuming. Can't use same water if…

  • we mentioned it in our application and it was evident in our payslips- salary sacrifice cars with NHS. Woolwich were arsey about it and brought our affordability down, Halifax and others werent bothered and go on gross salary - accepted with Halifax no bother.
  • Hi Halifax under valued ours by 7 grand. It is a 3 storey 3 bed town house with garage (not integral). Worth £206,950 however Halifax valuation stated they felt it was worth £200,000.
