stooze gain calculator
I've written a quick spreadsheet to help people calculate likely gains from stoozing (there are a few posts asking how much will I make etc). There are some other sites offering similar things around but you can download this in xls format. Follow the link at the top of https://www.stevefia.com Would be great to get some…

A small question?
Hi all, just a small question: I applied for a Mint card and have been accepted. I don't yet know what my credit limit is, but I want to do a 'super balance transfer' into my current account and then into my savings account. However, in the T&Cs Mint say that: 'for "transfer and save", money transfer and cheque…

Egg money limit
Excuse me if I am asking something obvious to all you expert stoozers out there, but as a newbie looking into this I have a question. Does it actually matter what credit limit you get with Egg money, as surely you don't move its own balance to your stooze pot (or maybe you do and I've misunderstood something). Don't you…

Offered 0% barclaycard over the counter
I went into the bank today to pay my minimum balance on my 0% card. The girl asked if I had a Barclaycard. She said theirs was 0% and I di I want to transfer the balance, no fee. I had already been thinking about my next 0% deal. As I'm now on my 5th I didn't want to apply and be turned down so this seems ideal. Iv'e got…

Credit card to pay off tax bill?
Help, I'm looking for some advice! I have an £8,000 tax bill coming up but I'm currently overdrawn around £7,000. I'm self-employed and have "money owed" - within the next 6 months I'd expect to have my overdraft and tax money in and be breaking even again. However, in the meantime, my hubby and I have to make ends meet!…

BT to HSBC
Hello fellow money savers, I have a stooze pot of £1200 with Nationwide on a 0% 6 deal which expires in a month. I applied for HBBC 0% for 9 month deal as it does not have a BT fee. However, in the T+C's you have to reply with the signed forms, pay slip and utility bill within 14 days but I sent mine in after this. I…

"SBT" With Credit Card Cheques?
I'm fairly new to this game and am finding it hard to get to grips with some of the finer points of stoozing. However I keep coming across references to moving money onto a mint card using credit card cheques, for which they appear to charge 2% upto £49. I haven't got a mint card and as I've applied for 3 credit cards and…

Hello!... This is my first ever post although I have been reading the site and absorbing all this amazing stuff for some time now. Here's where I am: My husband is the breadwinner and I am a housewife. Stoozing is gong to be my project but I will be using my husband's name for all the credit. My husband has one credit card…

Cash Flow Help for Tax Payment Due 31st Jan Please ?
Hi folks it's my first post here, I'm a self employed musician and my 8k tax bill due at the end of this month has caught me by surprise. Here's my problem. I've got 20k in a Mini Cash ISA which I don't really want to break into if I can help it. I've also got 5k in premium bonds which I can reluctantly withdraw. I owe…

Intelligent Finance
Is anyone stoozing with an Intelligent Finance Account? I have managed to build up a modest savings balance by stoozing. However this was only done through purchases on a credit card and then putting the money that I would have spent into a seperate credit card jar. I have seen some posts on here from people that have…

Getting Started
I'd be very grateful for a bit of advice on getting started. I thought I'd understood it all; applied for a cc LTSB with 6000 limit. Did a test transfer of £500 to my FD Visa Card, but! Problem 1. I now have a credit balance on that card and when I try to move it to my lovely new e-ISA the computer says 'no'. At least it…

Quick question: no fees for balance transferring to Egg Money?
The balance transfer from LTSB is now showing in my Egg money manager. Great stuff. I want to move the money out to A&L now so I've just filled in a balance transfer request. Before I press submit I just want to check that this is a 0% transfer.

High risk stoozing ideas????
MBNA offered me a stooze of £10,000 for 6 months at 0.9%. I could take that money and pay it into a 5% bank account and make £200 ish. But what else could I do to make a pile of cash??? Buy and sell ? invest? Of course if you had an idea why tell me?

Time limits on re-applying to same card group
Question... As we all know, the majority of credit card issuers insist that a certain time period is allowed to elapse between the closure of an account and the re-application for another "new customer" offer on the same card. Does this also apply within card "families"? That is, could I close (for example) a Halifax card…

Credit Scoring and Stoozing
Having read a number of your posts on this and other “pure money” boards as well as Martin’s new article on credit scoring I believe that some of you may find the information below useful. Unfortunately I find that many of you taken Martin’s advice as to closing old credit cards too seriously. I am not criticising his work…

Dumb question from a newbie
Hi I'm new to all this so this is probably a really dumb question (sorry!) I was wondering if anyone knows whether my idea for this would work. we will be getting credit in my fiancee's name and hope to transfer it to my flexiloan (which has a zero balance at the minute but i never got round to closing it down) this can…

Quick mini-stooze question
Hi I mini-stooze, as it were, by paying for things on my Tesco cc whic is 0% till May 1, and putting the money into my ING account that pays 4.5% interest. I have nearly reached my credit limit on the cc, and wonder if it is worth getting it extended or if I should just pay it off now? In total, I have around £4,000 in my…

Stoozing made simple?
I have read a bit about this stoozing, and for me seems a logical progression from card tartery. I think it's overly complicated though. I have a few credit cards, most on zero balance (including an egg card - which doesn't pay me if i'm in credit as far as i'm aware), and figure that I can max them out paying money into…
