MASSIVE increase Sky BB Fast 5 and Talk Anytime Pack

Hi

For our tv and Sky pack we are paying 63 quid a month

We've been with Sky at this house for over ten year

Th TV pack, in Sky Q/HD is 29 quid—contracted until April 2027.

The Braidband, IIRC called Fast Fibre 5 or something like that along with landline, Talk

Anytime pack was 34 quid (Our contract expired over a year ago)

The total month is 63 quid a month

The new piece from April first ifor same BB and same Talk Anytime pack is staggering.

64 quid.

Total for TV and BB/Talk Anytime from April 1st and a 2 YEAR CONTRACT for the BB/Talk Pack

is a MASSIVE 64 quid a month

Total 93 a month

We want a landline as we are like that.

I rang today he told me to contact the cancellations number, but he said the "2 year contact will be a must."

Any ideas?

Jusy last week they rang to off freed fibre BB upgrade as I do not want that and did not have time to talk I ended the call

Any other providers who provide something like Landline Talk Anytime and BB pack?

Apologies but your post seems a bit mixed up. You're under contract for the TV until April '27 I think although if it's Q then with the price rises you are now free to cancel or renegotiate.

Are you out of minimum term for the BB? Regardless, again because of the price rises you are entitled to tell them you're leaving penalty free and initiate a switch.

Ahh, you've been out of contract for a year on the BB. You seem to already be on full fibre if you're getting Fast Fibre 5, although if it includes Talk Anytime then that's a great deal at £34 a month on a rolling contract.

You say you're paying £63 now and it's going up to £64 in April but also say it's £94 a month?

It won't help you if you hang up on them I'm afraid, try the Whatsapp contact if you'd rather not talk to them. Sky contracts are a minimum 2 years although with Q or HD plus the BB it's effectively less as you can leave or renegotiate each April price rise.

For alternative BB suppliers try https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/compare-broadband-deals/

  • ATM I'm paying 63 quid a month for the tv/bb/phone

We've been with sky for years

Someone, the bb and tv and phone (Landline Sky talk anytime) got separated.

Therefore, ATM, we are paying in total of 63 for everything.

The BB/Phone is on a rolling contract, ie no contract

The tv pack contract ends April 2027

The tv price remains the same

however, the bb/phone price element of our sky pack goes up from 34 quid to 64

Therefore, total price we will need to pay from this April will be 94 in total as opposed to the 63 and also a new contract, a 2 year contract for the bb and phone pack. The tv pack remains for another year

About me not talking to them when they rang is because I was busy.

    Thanks.

Have you looked at BT to switch to for BB and landline to compare prices? ( keep.the TV with Sky)

Or consider other BB eg Plusnet and drop landline and use mobile?

Right, that sounds like you ended your BB minimum term at some point and Sky offered a (the same?) deal on a rolling monthly contract for the BB with the TV still under a minimum term contract.

The increase for the BB will be because of the end of the discount they offered you previously, you can renegotiate that at any time or simply switch. With the change in the TV T&C's you can also do the same for Q or HD+ TV packages.

You say (I think) that they've offered you the same package as you're on for just a £1 increase for the new 2 year contract (you can still renegotiate or leave fee free in April 2027). If you're happy with your current package of BB & TV then it's your choice whether to accept.

The free BB fibre upgrade you mention is presumably for faster BB as you're already on full fibre.

I just ended my contract with sky broadband because of the ridiculous increase. I am in mid contract but the support guy from sky said I can leave penalty free.

I have moved to Vodafone full fibre for about £8 less a month and £100 top cashback. So it's a win.

Anyway I do recommend Vodafone. You can have a landline but it goes through your internet. Kinda like VoIP meaning you don't need a landline wire to your house to have a landline. This is what I did with Vodafone when I was with them last time so I could have full fibre. I think at the time it was in all £28. But we are telling 3 years ago. The issue is if the electrics go down the phone does too.

I have moved away from landlines now. This was daunting at first but to be honest probably for the best.

I am going to try and phone them today

The unsolcited call I got from them was a "free upfrade to full fibre," and I thought, !!!!!! - I reckon this is their ploy, get people to pay lods more

So Our total bill will shoot up from 63 to a massive 94 quid -

Thank you all for you help I've noted the comments and will look into that

We have mobiles, payg and i have recently bought a monthly payg but we prefer the landline so its a must as we get fed up having to charge the mobiles.

    Ok - UPDATE

Come off the phone. May be I was lucky - spoke to a very nice gent in Indian. Told him we were leaving and how would this work, ie when would the BB/phone be cut off.

Atm we have their old system/copper line Fast fibre 35 or something like that

Old pack bb/phone pack (tv, sky q, HD remains as is. New BB is Full fibre 150, the phone pack is like for like - the tv pack remains as is. The new BB/phone pack contract is 24 months.

New price 62 quid—presently paying 63 quid. (Incredible, one quid less and they've qavied the

    10 quid connection)

Sky wre saying it was going to be 94 quid for the old package, including BB/TV/phone.

So tell them you are going to cancel and ask when this will happen—then ask can they help like for like pack. They will offer "full fibre' and price goes down, The full fibre is not in all areas of the uk

Btw - call the 'Cancelations Dept.' dont bother with the others.

    Thanks all,

Ahh, so you weren't on full fibre then.

You've just reminded me about the 'Admin Fee' as that never got mentioned by either me or them, there's no sign of it on the bill so I'll keep an eye out for that.

Sky were trying to off-load full fibre to me a few weeks ago, but I said no as I was busy and suspected a massive price hike.

Incredibly, I've got the same package as before but with the Full Fibre 150 included.

The price is 50p cheaper when compared with over a year ago, and as I said, they surprised me with the "admin fee..10 quid" and I must have said something, so they waived the 'admin fee.'

In all honesty, even if our TV/BB/phone pack remained exactly the same ie no full fiber, I expected to pay a few quid more.

I guess it's the person you speka with and their authrotiy levels that count.
