Oyster card v Season Ticket

I normally buy an annual season ticket from Marlow to London Zones 1-6 (£4,004.00) but wondered if it would be cheaper to buy a Marlow to London Paddington ticket (£3,236.00) and get a pay as you go Oyster card for the travel from Paddington to Liverpool Street or Bank. I travel Mon-Fri peak times for approx. 45 weeks a year. I don’t think it is cheaper as I work this out as two Zone 1 journeys per day £4.60 (2015 figs) * 5 days a week, * 45 weeks per year =£1,035.00, + the Rail ticket = £4,271. Is this correct? Or is there a cheaper alternative (that doesn’t involve a bike!)? Thanks.

Getting the bus from Paddington to Liverpool Street and back would work out cheaper - but add massively to your journey time0

Wouldn't the all inclusive season ticket cover any travel you might do in London - how many times do you travel in London apart from directly to & from work?0

If you're just going to Liverpool St you don't use all the zones you're paying for. Can you get seasons to Z1 only?0

It does cover all my London travel needs, however I seem to use this less and less.0 -
How about a season ticket to Paddington, and a separate annual travelcard for zone 1 only? I've not looked at the prices.
It will be £1284 for zone 1 only.
The best option it still the Zone 1-6 annual season, I can't see any way of making it cheaper other than not using the tube from Paddington to Liverpool street, but that's just silly.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
