Having that LBM (light bulb moment) is the first step to sorting things out. What you now need to do is decide what next - and, depending on your situation - my advice would be to speak to one of the free debt charities (Stepchange, National Debtline, Payplan) and go from there.
I know SC have an online debt remedy tool - so you could have a go at completing that first, and see what the advice is.
There are all sorts of options - one being a method called 'snowballing' -which if you do a search on here you'll find more about, that has the benefit of keeping your credit file intact.
Others will affect your credit rating, but hey - guess you're not managing well with that anyways, so nothing is really lost.
Good luck with whatever you decide and be positive that you've taken that first step

Update (Aug14): Debt 62,920 (22% paid) / 11 Creditors0
