What can I do with a piece of land?

At the back of our garden we have a piece of land, which we don't really use and don't have the money to make the most of. It's about the size of two tennis courts, perhaps bigger but doesn't have a point where anyone outside our household could access. Is there anything we could do with this? Thanks for your help! x

i know someone who built a new house th land and sold the front house to pay for it0

only negotiate with other people in the area to get bits of adjoining land from gardens to give you access to a road
you could go long term and get outline planning permission for building on the plot with the removal of your property giving accessEx forum ambassador

Does your house completely block access to the piece of land? Could the drive / garden be re-arranged to make access possible?
If you put the postcode up we can all look it up on google earth to have a nosey!

It will be dificult to sell it, or even get planning permission if there is no access to it. If you do want to sell it then you have to figure out the access part first.
Personally I would be thinking of growing veg and keeping chickens. Possibly dividing it up into allotments and renting them out. You would only need a pathway then, which would be easier than a road for access.
To be honest it would be very difficult to know what is best as we can't see it. We also don't know if you want to raise cash from it, would be happy with a smaller income from rent, or whether you don't need the income but would like to put the land to some use.0 -
Would any of your neighbours be interested in buying it to increase to size of their property? Obvious thing to think about is if you do this could they then build/get planning permission - if so your price would be a lot different to if they were just going to increase the size of their land0

Build your self a shed to sleep in and let out your rooms in the house to lodgers.
Now you cant do better than that.0 -
Renting it out is a good idea.
I'm looking for land to rent for my dog training classes and dog walking. That would be a good way to get a bit of income but with no permanent commitment, and you wouldn't have any maintenance, and it wouldn't be used all the time.
Don't suppose you're in Sunderland by any chance?
